Parthenocissus

Family: Vitaceae

Deciduous vines grown predominately for autumn coloured leaves and ease of growing.

Vines grow well in most climates but prefer cool temperate to subtropics.

Parthenocissus have claspers that allow them to climb up walls without the need for a twining structure.

Choices

Parthenocissus quinquefolia (Virginia creeper) – vigorous vines with stunning scarlet red autumn tones.

Parthenocissus tricuspidata (Boston Ivy) – maple like leaves that turn rust red in autumn.
