Only one species of note… Hymenosporum flavum.

Native to rainforest of Queensland and New South Wales.

 

A small narrow tree with shiny leaves and scented flowers.

Blossoms open as cream and then age to yellow and orange around mid spring.

 

In shady and tropical districts the shape is more upright and open. In cooler districts like Adelaide, the shape is more compact and dense.

 

Landscape Use:

As a focal tree; part of a fragrant garden; native garden.

Drought
